Andrew Geer - Class of 1925

“Stately and tall, he moves through the hall.”

This is how Andrew Geer was described in the 1925 Optimist. He was a member of the 1925 Class that graduated 70 members. The Optimist said this about him:
“As we review his high school athletic record we are of the opinion that his services will be very much missed in the years to come. He has at all times been courteous to coach and officials, and always willing to work. He has much natural athletic ability and we feel sure he will make a name for himself and Crookston High School in college athletics.”

Andrew was an involved student/athlete as demonstrated by the following:

Four years of Football (1921 – 1924). He was the 1924 Football Captain of a team that was 3-2-1. 

Two years of Basketball (1924 & 1925). His senior year, the teams had a 8-4 record, won district championship then lost to Moorhead to go to State. He played center. 

Three years of Baseball (1922 – 1924). His senior year, he had a .350 batting average and a 3-0 pitching record.

Three years of Relay (1921 – 1923). The relay was a spring arrangement between Grand Forks and Crookston for an inter-state relay race to be run between the two cities, a distance of 26 miles where 26 runners were to be used, each running a mile.
