SR Boys Hockey

The first mention of hockey was in the 1943 Optimist, where a picture of the team and the names of the team members – Hopkins, Hayter, Wilson, Viau, Wilkens, Wentzel, Dargan, Romuld, Kast, Bain, Whitney and student coach Sannes - were listed. The first team played 13 games during the 1942-43 and 1943-44 seasons.

The next recorded season was 1948-49 when the team was coached by Ray Horge.

Beginning in January of 1950, Bob Strand coached the team in a 12 game schedule. Coach Strand was still in charge in 1951 during an 11 game schedule, which was its last until the 1958-59 season. Hockey has been played continuously since that season.
