Parents, ask your sophomore about the MN MILE Program. MILE stands for Motivating & Inspiring Leadership & Excellence. One sophomore can attend this 3 day seminar at no cost to the student. This high energy weekend consists of team-building activities, motivational speakers, small group discussions, and more. MILE encourages leadership development through emphasis on personal responsibility, volunteerism and increased awareness of social issues. This seminar willbe held at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul,MN. This seminar is usually held on the third weekend of June.
I visit with the 10 th grade class regarding this opportunity usually in January.

Girls and Boys State. Two junior girls and two junior boys are selected each winter to participate in and represent CHS at the state conventions in the middle ofJune. Girls State Convention is held at theUniversity of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MNand the Boys State Convention is held at SouthwestMinnesota StateUniversity in Marshall, MN.These great programs are sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary and American Legion.

Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) The Crookston Rotary Club sponsors numerous juniors in attending a week long leadership seminar on the campus of Univ. MN-Crookston. Seminar is usually held in July.
