This class will consist of painting a fall landscape using acrylic paints & specialty brushes. You will learn how to paint a road, trees, foliage, brushes & pumpkins (if time allows). Minimum class size is 3 students, Maximum class size is 12 students.

This class will consist of painting a scarecrow, pumpkins, and black cats on a purple tin.

This class will consist of painting a snowman on a blue plate with enamel paint. Then we will add details to the snowman and paint snowflakes. Minimum class size is3 students, Maximum class size is 11 students.

Are you between the ages of 11 and 13 and want to be certified as a babysitter? Learn how to care for young children from child care experts, a kindergarten teacher, a nurse, and a firefighter. Linda Morgan and CHS Leo Club members will guide you through this course. Fall and spring sessions are offered.

Class Fee $10 (payable to Community Education)

Beginning Bridge
This class is designed for those who have little or no experience playing Bridge. The course will include basic bidding, play of the cards, scoring, and bridge ethics.
Intermediate Bridge
Thisclass is designed for those who have played some bridge and wish to improve their bidding, play of the cards, defense, conventions, and psychology of the game.

Adult Basic Education Classes

These classes offer adults assistance with GED, English as a Second Language, Workforce Preparation, Basic Skills Enhancement, Citizenship, and Civic Education.

Classes are held at 2015 Sahlstrom Drive, Suite 5, on Mondays and Thursdays, from 9:00am-Noon and from 12:30-3:30. For more information, please contact Chrysti Sander 218-277-7334.


Crookston Community Education Advisory Board

The Crookston Community Education Advisory Board meets four times a year. The volunteer board members represents education, health, business, recreation, and families in our community tocontribute a wide scope of interests.

The Advisory Board Meeting dates are set for: October 23, 2017, January 22, 2018, March 19, 2018, and May 7, 2018.

Crookston Community Pool


Swimming

The Crookston Community Pool is a great facility to take advantage of for entertainment, health and wellness, as well as learning how to swim. Come join us for the following activities at the pool!

Open Swim: Monday—Friday 6:30 to 8:00pm
Saturday & Sunday Noon to 3:00pm

Lap Swimming: Monday—Friday 6:00 to 9:00a.m.

Aqua Exercise: Monday—Friday 9:00 to 10:00a.m.
Monday & Wednesday 6:30 to 7:30p.m.
Tuesday & Thursday 8:00 to 9:00p.m.

We will have group swim lesson sessions available again at the end of November so keep your eye open on our website for registration forms coming in October.

Crookston Crocodile Wellness Program

The Crookston Crocodile Wellness Program is for swimmers age 6-18 who want to learn to swim better, stay in shape for swimming and other sports, swim for a healthier lifestyle, or just be able to swim in a structured environment with friends. Swimmers will work on learning techniques of freestyle, backstroke, breastroke, and butterfly through a variety of fun activities in and out of the water.

Practice time: Winter session: 5:00-6:00 pm. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday (adjustments can be made)

This is a non-competitive program. However, if a swimmer gets to a point where they want to compete, they are encouraged to move up to the Crocodile Swim Team.

Aqua Exercise

A great way to feel better while gaining strength, flexibility, balance and endurance!

Water exercise and water walking are growing by leaps and bounds in many areas because it’s fun, works so well, and causes less stress on your body!

Those who have taken this class include people with chronic back problems, hip or knee replacement surgery, weight problems, fibromyalgia, arthritis, diabetes, health issues or no ailments at all! This class is for old, young, male or female wanting to exercise in the comfort of water.

This program consists of:

¨Fifteen minutes warming up on your own
¨Half an hour exercising
¨Ten minutes toning
¨Five minutes stretching

The cost for Aqua Exercise or Lap Swim is $5.00 per time or purchase a 10 punch card for $30 which is good for 2 months of $36 for the month!

These self taught instructors give attention to detail in the art of making pies. On each night of class, students will participate in making two speciality pies (Gus and Don’s popular secret recipes). Upon registration, you will be provided with a list of supplies to bring.
