Veronica Whitehead

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Veronica Whitehead

I am an ALC teacher and Special Education teacher at Crookston High School in the mornings, and at our downtown ALC location in the afternoons.  I provide special education services to those students in the ALC on an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

New Paths Area Learning Center (ALC) is an alternative education program offering students in grades 9-12 a non-traditional setting in which to complete credits toward their high school diplomas. The ALC serves approximately 200 to 250 students year-round; the student population includes residents of Crookston and also students from surrounding communities.

This is a program for students who have fallen behind in their coursework at their regular high school, have dropped out and want to return to complete their high school education, or have not been successful in a traditional high school setting.

New Paths focuses on individual learning styles using the independent study attendance model to meet students' needs. Low teacher-student ratio, group interaction, computer resources, employability skills, work experience, and counseling assist students in their transition to post-secondary education or the world of work.
