Local scholarships are often less competitive than national scholarships but similar in amount. While a student's first instinct may be to aim for high-dollar, national college scholarships, experts say this may turn him or her into a "little fish in a big pond." Instead, local scholarships may often offer less competition and a greater chance for success.

Scholarship Requirements / Eligibility:

  • Applicant must be a member or have a parent or grandparent who is or was a member of Nels T. Wold 
    Post 20, Auxiliary, or SAL.

Scholarship Requirements / Eligibility:

  • Senior who is involved in school activities and has spent time volunteering outside of school.

  • This scholarship is not grade-based, but, instead, shows your involvement around the Crookston community.

  • Performing arts, fine arts, music, graphic design, interior design, sound industrial, video game design, fashion design, and culinary arts

  • Must be an undergraduate student

  • Must attend a university, a four-year college, two-year college or a vocational-tech school

  • Must currently be a high school student

Scholarship Award: $1,000      Application Deadline: March 15th,  2023

  • Must attend a university, a four-year college, two-year college or a vocational-tech school

  • Citizenship requirements: US

  • Must study full-time

  • Restricted to residents of Minnesota

  • Restricted to students studying Health and Medical Sciences

  • Must be affiliated with American Legion or Auxiliary

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

  • Restricted to female students

  • Must not be attending high school currently

  • Must study full-time

  • Must be affiliated with American Legion or Auxiliary

Scholarship Requirements / Eligibility:

​

  • Scholarship Application for Students Male & Female

  • Applicant must have a FEMALE Relative who is a member of the Crookston Eagles Ladies Auxiliary #873 Crookston, MN.

 

The student is requested to submit with the application:

  1. A resume, not to exceed two pages. Which should include the following: 

  • High School Activities

  • Community Involvement

  • Honors

  • Awards

  • Special Achievements

 

2. Two Letters of reference AND a copy of your High School Transcript.

Scholarship Requirements / Eligibility:

​

  • Recipient must be a resident of West Polk County

  • The college must offer a bachelor’s degree or technical training

  • Student must have completed one (1) semester of college before award is given

  • The student does not need to be a college freshman

Scholarship Requirements / Eligibility:

​

  • Applicants must be a member or have a parent who is a member of the Driftbusters Snowmobile Club.

  • Applicants must have successfully completed the snowmobile safety training course.

  • Applicants must be completing or have completed high school successfully with a minimum GPA of 2.5

  • Applicants must be accepted as a full time student at a college, university, or trade school program for the upcoming academic semester.   

  • Applicants must complete and submit a Scholarship Application postmarked by: April 1, 2023

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICANTS MUST PROVIDE:

​

  • Completed application form.

  • Official high school transcript.

  • One letter of recommendation.

  • Proof of enrollment from the college, trade school or community college, prior to receiving an award.
