How to Apply: 

The P.E.O. Sisterhood is a philanthropic and educational organization interested in bringing increased opportunities for higher education to women.

Please attach a general information sheet about yourself including your academic standing and activities.

 

Please respond to the following questions:

1. As a young woman, why is your education important to you?

2. Faith, love, purity, justice, and truth are important qualities to be a P.E.O. member. Choose one of these qualities and express how that quality has influenced your life. Please express yourself in a typed essay of 200 words maximum.

Return your essay to Tara in the Counseling Office 

 

Eligibility: 

This scholarship is available to all females graduating this spring and who are pursuing higher education.

Scholarship Award: $1,000      Scholarship Deadline: April 1st, 2023

 

How to Apply: 

Write a one-page essay (double-spaced) on why you want to pursue a career in the technology field (preferred) or another related science field and what you want to accomplish. 

Return your essay to Tara in the Counseling Office 

 

Eligibility: 

  1. The recipients are graduating Seniors intending to study technology or a career field that utilizes technology, at an institution of higher education. 

Scholarship Award: $500    Application Deadlines: April 1st, 2023   

How to Apply: Write a one-page essay (double-spaced) on this history and benefits of cooperatives, like the Red Lake Electric Co-op, for communities and individual customers.

Return your essay to Tara in the Counseling Office 

Eligibility: 

  1. Dependent of a Red Lake Electric Cooperative member that resides in our service area

  2. Finish one semester of post secondary education before they receive the scholarship money 

Scholarship Award: $10,000    Application Deadlines: March 27th, 2023   

How to Apply: Online 

 

All Applicants Must:

  • Answer the following statement Video up to 2 mins: 

    • What are 3 short term goals (academic, financial, personal, professional, etc.) that are important for you to achieve and how will this scholarship help you bridge the gap to your goals?

Eligibility: 

  • Be currently enrolled as a high school senior for 2022-2023 academic year

  • Plan to be a full time student during the 2023-2024 academic year

  • Plan to be enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution or continuous education programopens in a new window during the 2023-2024 academic year

    • Two-year Schools

    • Four-year Schools

    • Vocational/Technical certificate/certification program

  • Current cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher

  • Be Pell-Grant eligible

  • Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551

  • Be a diverse candidate 

  • Diverse shall include, but not limited to: 

  • Gender 

  • Disability 

  • Race

  • Ethnicity

  • Belonging to an underserved community

  • Able to demonstrate leadership abilities

  • Able to demonstrate good moral character in all aspects of your life, including personal, professional, educational, in your community, and online presence
