Jamie Macho, Special Education

Welcome to Highland Elementary School, and thanks for visiting my site! Below, you will find my fall 2013-14 welcome letter, schedule, and contact information.

Dear Highland Families,

I am looking forward to getting to know those of you I have not yet had the opportunity to speak with, and am excited to reconnect with all of my returning students and families.

Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I attended the University of North Dakota, earning a bachelor’s degree in English Education, and a master’s degree in K-12 Special Education. This is my fourth year as a special education teacher in the Crookston School District, and my third year teaching at Highland.

On a personal note, I just sent my eldest son (Jackson) off to fifth grade, my daughter (Solveig) to second grade, and my youngest (Charley) is 34 months, and is a mover and a shaker at day care. This summer, I kept busy gardening, painting, and shuttled the kids to and from various activities. The highlights of my summer were vacationing at Glacier National Park with my family, attending traveling soccer games and tournaments, and spending time working and playing at Union Lake. Though I’m sad to say goodbye to summer, I am excited for school to resume once again.. I love this time of year!

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 281-5600. The best times to reach me by phone are from 7:45-3:45 Mon-Fri. You can also email me at if email is preferable.

Let’s work together to make this a great year!
