Temporary Distance Learning Period December 4, 2020 A decision was made to extend distance learning until the Holiday Break. The last day of this temporary distance learning period would be on Dec. 22, 2020 and school would resume in person on January 4, 2021. Additionally, to give our teachers the prep time as outlined in Governor Walz's executive order we are making a calendar change by converting February 24, March 24, and April 28 from instructional days to workshop days. Free Grab & Go Meals November 4, 2020 Crookston Public School District is currently providing Grab and Go lunches for all children 0-18 years. We welcome everyone to use this service if you are at home for any reason, to include distance learners. Children do not need to be present in order to pick up meals. This service is available on all scheduled school days including 2W/distance learning days for all students. HOW TO GET A MEAL: Request a Grab-and-Go meal by 10:00AM of the day of service by using the Meal Request Form . Meal requests can be placed multiple days ahead of time. Pick up your meal(s) on the day in which it was requested between 11:00AM-12:00PM at Crookston High School door #15. We ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing when picking up your requested meal(s). MSHSL Triple "A" Award November 23, 2021 Crookston High School is now accepting applications for the MSHSL Triple “A” Award. This program recognizes high school Seniors who excel in the arts, athletics and the classroom. Seniors who have a “B” or higher grade point average and who participate in League-sponsored athletic and fine arts activities are eligible for nomination. Triple “A” State Award recipients will receive a four-year $1,000 scholarship. To apply for the award, please complete application listed below. School Readiness is an early childhood program for children ages 3-5 years old before they attend kindergarten. Children must be 3 years of age on or before September 1, 2022. Highland Elementary School Named A "Best Elementary School" for 2021 October 20, 2021 Crookston Public Schools is pleased to announce that Highland Elementary School was recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a “Best Elementary School”. Highland Elementary School was among the top 30% of Elementary Schools in MN. These rankings were a composite of how well students did in Reading and Math state assessments as well as how each demographic group performed. Crookston School District is incredibly proud of the Highland staff and students for this accomplishment.
