STUDENT SERVICES HELPING STUDENTS ACHIEVE ACADEMIC SUCCESS Title I English Language Learner American Indian Program TITLE I Title I Title I provides services to students who may need extra help in reading and/or math. Placement is based on classroom teacher recommendations, student performance on FastBridge, and MCA (Minnesota Comprehensive Assessment) tests. Academic goals are created for each student in the program. When these goals are achieved or they have reached proficiency on the assessments, the student is dismissed from the Title I program. Notice of Filing Dates for School Board Election July 12, 2022 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the period for filing affidavits of candidacy for the office of school board member of Independent School District No. 593 shall begin on August 2, 2022, and shall close at 5:00 p.m. on August 16, 2022. The general election shall be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2022. At that election, three (3) members will be elected to the School Board for terms of four (4) years each. Affidavits of Candidacy are available from the school district clerk, 402 Fisher Avenue, Suite 593, Crookston, MN. The filing fee for this office is $2. A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for thirty (30) days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same primary or next ensuing general election. Eat United Summer Food Program 2021 May 28, 2021 Crookston Public Schools, in partnership with the United Way of Crookston, will be offering free grab and go summer meals for all children this summer. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the Eat United Summer Food Service Program will be served as a grab and go option only to avoid congregate settings. Meals are distributed out of Highland Elementary School’s main entrance on a first come, first serve basis. When: Monday through Thursday Starting Date: June 7, 2021 Ending Date: July 29, 2021 Time: 11:00am – 12:30pm Serving Location (Grab and Go Only): Highland Elementary School 801 Central Avenue N. Grab and Go Meal Service Procedure Drive to the front of Highland Elementary School between 11:00am-12:30pm. Walk to the main entrance of the school. A school employee will meet you at the doors. The school employee will ask how many meals you will need. Children do not need to be present in order to pick up the meals. You will receive 1 breakfast and 1 lunch for each child 18 years and younger requesting a meal. Please note that if you will not be eating these items immediately, refrigerate for later consumption. Please follow CDC and MDH guidelines while picking up meals, to include wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. Meals will be handed out on a first come, first serve basis.
