    Temporary Distance Learning Period November 12, 2020 Crookston Public Schools will be going into a Temporary Distance Learning Period beginning on November 23, 2020 and ending on December 9, 2020 . Friday November 20, 2020 will be the last day of in person classes at Crookston Public Schools until we resume again on December 10, 2020. We anticipate that a decision will be made a week prior to the end of the temporary distance learning period to determine whether an extension of this temporary distance learning period is necessary.     Winter Driver Education Registration November 14th, 2022 Winter Driver Education registration is open now until Thursday, November 17th at 4:30 pm. Students must be at least 15 years old by Mach 31st, 2023 to register for Driver Education. The fee is $325 and must be paid before the first day of class. Please complete the Driver Education form and email it back to Mr. Trostad at christrostad@isd593.org or mail it to Highland School, 801 Central Avenue North, Crookston or drop it off at Crookston High School. Driver Education forms may be picked up in the office at Crookston High School or downloaded.     MSHSL Triple 'A' Award Recipients January 10, 2022 The Triple ‘A’ Award - sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League, honors high school seniors who have excelled in the classroom, in fine arts and on the athletic field. Students who are nominated must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or better, participate in MSHSL sponsored fine arts and athletic activities, and comply with the MSHSL’s Student Code of Conduct. Crookston Public School District is proud to announce our nominations for this award. George French and Emma Osborn have been selected to represent Crookston in the Triple ‘A’ Award this year. George French (Parents: George & Rae French) GPA: 3.7 Activities: Band, orchestra, one act play, speech, soccer, football, golf, tennis College Plans: To attend the University of North Dakota Emma Osborn (Parents: Doug & Jessica Osborn) GPA: 3.8 Activities: Orchestra, tennis, basketball, track and field, softball College Plans: To pursue a degree in Pre-Veterinary Sciences at Minnesota State University Moorhead. Regional winners will be announced at the Triple ‘A’ Banquet in Mahnomen on February 2, 2022. The top two Triple ‘A’ Award candidates from each region will be invited to a recognition banquet and will participate in an on-court ceremony during the Class AA Minnesota Boys’ State Basketball championship game in March. League officials will announce two state Award recipients – one girl and one boy from both Class A and Class AA schools – during the on-court ceremony. The last day of this temporary distance learning period would be on Dec. 22, 2020 and school would resume in person on January 4, 2021.   • Free Grab & Go Meals | District 593

    Free Grab & Go Meals November 4, 2020 Crookston Public School District is currently providing Grab and Go lunches for all children 0-18 years. We welcome everyone to use this service if you are at home for any reason, to include distance learners. Children do not need to be present in order to pick up meals. This service is available on all scheduled school days including 2W/distance learning days for all students. HOW TO GET A MEAL: Request a Grab-and-Go meal by 10:00AM of the day of service by using the Meal Request Form . Meal requests can be placed multiple days ahead of time. Pick up your meal(s) on the day in which it was requested between 11:00AM-12:00PM at Crookston High School door #15. We ask that you wear a mask and practice social distancing when picking up your requested meal(s).
