Members of the School Board are elected by the general public of Independent School District #593. School board member elections will be held every two years in the even-numbered years with the November General Election, with three school board members elected for terms of four (4) years each.
School Board Policies
A number of school board policies are mandatory and are necessary to meet the requirements of state or federal law. State and federal agencies look for the mandatory school board policies during accreditation visits, financial audits, investigations and as contingencies prior to the release of funds.
Policies are the informal guidelines established by the Board of Education to ensure that Crookston Public Schools responds to its mission and operates in an effective, efficient, and consistent manner. The policies define the desire and intent of the Board of Education and are developed with guidance from the Minnesota School Board Association to ensure they are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
The district’s approved board policies and administrative regulations are organized into the following sections.
Please note that policies are under continual review, and as such, the policies on the website may not always reflect very recent changes.
